Ingredients
- Grain-fed turkey
- 15 ml (2 tbsp) salt
- 15 ml (2 tbsp) pepper
- 1 or 2 onions, diced
- 2 or 3 garlic gloves, chopped
- Butter
- 375 ml (1 1/2 cups) water or chicken broth
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Season turkey on the inside:
• 1 tbsp of salt;
• 1 tbsp of pepper;
• 1 or 2 chopped onions;
• 2 or 3 crushed garlic cloves (optional). - Season turkey on the outside:
• Brush turkey with butter;
• Add water or chicken broth in bottom of roasting pan;
• Sprinkle turkey breast with salt and pepper;
• Cook turkey; • Baste turkey a few times while it cooks. - Cook the first hour at 400°F, then lower to 350°F until cooked
- Check that it is cooked.

* A whole turkey is safe when cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 180 ºF (82 ºC) as measured with a food thermometer.
If you debone your turkey before serving, cook the breast turned towards the bottom of the roasting pan. This will allow the meat to be even juicier.
